Prioritise Your Wellbeing This Christmas
The holiday season is upon us! For many, Christmas is a time of joy, celebration, and connection. But let’s be real—it can also be a little overwhelming. Work deadlines pile up, family expectations grow, finances get stretched, and the pressures to make everything perfect can weigh heavily on us.
That’s why it’s so important to focus on your wellbeing during this busy time of year. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s the key to showing up for others with the energy, patience, and joy the season deserves.
Your Wellbeing Matters - Now More Than Ever
When life gets hectic, we tend to put our own needs last. You might be thinking, ‘Sure, but there’s no time for me when I have so much to do!’ We tell ourselves, ‘I’ll rest later,’ or, ‘I just need to get through this.’ And I get it. It’s easy to put yourself last on the list, especially when everyone else seems to need you.
But here’s the thing: when your wellbeing is neglected, it’s not just you who feels the strain. It ripples into your relationships, your work, and your ability to truly enjoy the festive season.
So, let’s flip the script. This Christmas, let’s make you a priority—starting with a simple but powerful wellbeing exercise.
A Simple Wellbeing Exercise
Take a piece of paper (or the Notes app on your phone) and write down everything weighing on your mind as Christmas approaches.
Ask yourself:
🌸What are my biggest stresses right now?
🌸Are there worries about work or upcoming deadlines?
🌸Do family dynamics feel tricky to navigate?
🌸Do family gatherings feel more stressful than joyful?
🌸Is money a source of anxiety this year?
🌸Are relationships adding to my stress instead of filling my cup?
Once you’ve written it all down, take a deep breath.
Putting your thoughts down on paper can be incredibly freeing. It takes the swirling thoughts out of your head and makes them tangible, giving you a sense of control. This list isn’t about solving everything all at once—it’s about acknowledging what’s there. From there, you can begin to prioritise and tackle one thing at a time.
Once you’ve identified your stresses, ask yourself:
🌸What’s one thing I can do to make this easier on myself?
🌸Who can I lean on for support?
Remember, you don’t have to solve everything at once. Sometimes, just acknowledging your feelings and making a small plan can make a big difference.

And it all starts with wellbeing.
W in WORKBENCH stands for Wellbeing because looking after yourself is the foundation for everything else. It’s about recognising your worth, setting boundaries, and giving yourself permission to rest, recharge, and grow.
